Dr. Epstein is a partner at Chicago-based CPA firm Russell Novak & Company, where his work is centered around technical consultation on GAAP, IFRS and auditing standards, and on litigation consulting as a testifying expert on financial reporting and auditors’ responsibilities matters.
He is also lead co-author or author of several standard reference works, including Wiley GAAP and Wiley IFRS, now in their 22nd and 10th editions, respectively, and the forthcoming Wiley IFRS Policies and Procedures. He has over forty years’ experience as a CPA, having held positions in university teaching, corporate financial management, and public accounting over the course of his career.
His recent expert witness work includes numerous assignments for the SEC and other government regulatory agencies, as well as for over seventy private sector litigation matters, often involving merger and acquisition disputes or other contractual issues.
