Doug Lankler

At 10:15 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4, Douglas Lankler will explore the critical missing link in the compliance chain: what to do with information generated by the program. Lankler, who also serves as SVP and associate general counsel for the pharmaceutical giant, will describe Pfizer’s early warning systems,” and will explore the dilemmas created by these sophisticated systems; namely, what to do with the information?

Following the session, Lankler will lead an off-the-record small-group conversation to discuss challenges that other compliance executives have faced regarding their "early warning" systems (limited to 24 compliance executives).

Douglas Lankler Doug Lankler is Senior Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Pfizer’s Chief Compliance Officer. He has overall responsibility for the Company’s Corporate Compliance, Government Investigations, Environmental Health & Safety, Corporate Regulatory Compliance and Healthcare Audit Legal Support functions.

Since joining the Company in 1999, Doug has helped lead the development of the Company’s compliance infrastructure, and has been involved in the negotiation of several significant government matters.

Prior to joining the Company, Doug was with the United States Department of Justice as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York. While in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he prosecuted white collar fraud, corporate crimes, traditional organized crime and terrorism. In 1999, Doug was a recipient of the United States Attorney General’s Distinguished Service Award.

Before joining the Department of Justice, Doug worked in the Litigation Department of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York.

Doug graduated magna cum laude from the State University of New York at Albany and cum laude from Cornell Law School. In addition to involvement in his local community, he serves on the Board of Directors of Transparency International – USA.
