Brady K. Long is the Chief Compliance Officer & Deputy General Counsel of Pride International, Inc., one of the world’s largest offshore drilling contractors. Pride (NYSE: PDE) is based in Houston, Texas and has approximately 7,000 employees in 21 countries.
Mr. Long joined Pride in 2005 after having practiced corporate and securities law for BJ Services Company (NYSE: BJS) and Bracewell & Patterson LLP (the predecessor to Bracewell & Giuliani LLP).
Since February 2006, the Audit Committee of Pride’s Board of Directors has been conducting an internal investigation relating to potential FCPA violations in certain of its operations. The investigation has included a review of Pride’s operations in Brazil, India, Kazakhstan, Mexico, the Republic of the Congo, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela. Pride has voluntarily disclosed the findings of the investigation to the U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission and is cooperating with these authorities as the investigation continues.
In September 2007, Mr. Long was appointed as the Chairman of the Ethics & Corporate Compliance Committee of the International Association of Drilling Contractors. He is a member of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association.
Mr. Long graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law and magna cum laude from Brigham Young University.
