Paul Mokdessi

At 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, Paul Mokdessi and Northern Trust SVP and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer Saverio Mirarchi will lead a discussion on how a principles-based risk management framework can cut across organizational hierarchies to achieve effective and efficient outcomes. This session will include actionable strategies for effective risk management, focusing on incremental steps that can control costs, balance risk appetite and tolerance, and allow management to get back to business.

In a follow-up session at 4:15 p.m., Mokdessi and Mirarchi will lead a small-group conversation for up to 24 risk executives to share effective risk management strategies, including steps for controlling costs and balancing risk tolerance.

Paul Mokdessi is Managing Director in PricewaterhouseCoopers Advisory. He joined PwC in 2006, and is one of the firm’s leaders of the Governance, Risk and Compliance practice.

Paul focuses on providing large financial institutions with solutions to advance their enterprise risk management agendas, with emphasis on governance structures, program design and risk technology.

Prior to joining PwC, Paul was the leader of the US financial services risk management practice for the consulting firm BearingPoint. Prior to his consulting career, he spent 12 years in the financial markets industry, as a derivatives trading desk head for ABN Amro and The First National Bank of Chicago.

He holds a degree in Economics from Wesleyan University, and an MBA in Finance from The University of Michigan.
