Valerie E. Radford
Managing Director, Risk Management
TIAA-CREF

SESSION
At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, Radford will join KPMG’s National Lead Enterprise Risk Management Partner John Farrell for a discussion of ERM market trends, leading practices, implementation tips, and practical steps to address common challenges. .

Later in the day (1:45 p.m.), Farrell and Radford will lead a small-group conversation where risk executives can share lessons, successes, implementation tips, and challenges (limited to 24 executives).

Valerie Radford is Managing Director, Risk Management, at TIAA-CREF, the financial services organization that provides retirement services in the academic, research, medical and cultural fields; the firm has more than $400 billion in combined assets under management.

As Managing Director, Risk Management, Radford is responsible for establishing and providing oversight for TIAA-CREF's operational risk management program. In her role, she acts as Secretary of the company's Asset Liability Committee.

Additionally, she is responsible for reporting the company's risks and is taking a lead role in introducing an Enterprise Risk Assessment process to TIAA-CREF.

Previously, Radford was responsible for setting the strategic direction of and managing the TIAA-CREF investor website.

Before joining TIAA-CREF, Radford was Director of Internet Promotions for Merck-Medco (now Medco Health). She has also held strategic marketing positions at Chase Manhattan Bank and National Westminster Bank.

Radford holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics from Georgetown University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Industrial Engineering.
