Valerie Radford is Managing Director, Risk Management, at TIAA-CREF, the financial services organization that provides retirement services in the academic, research, medical and cultural
fields; the firm has more than $400 billion in combined assets under management.
As Managing Director, Risk Management, Radford is responsible for
establishing and providing oversight for TIAA-CREF's operational risk management
program. In her role, she acts as Secretary of the company's Asset Liability Committee.
Additionally, she is responsible for reporting the company's risks and is taking a lead
role in introducing an Enterprise Risk Assessment process to TIAA-CREF.
Previously,
Radford was responsible for setting the strategic direction of and managing the TIAA-CREF
investor website.
Before joining TIAA-CREF, Radford was Director of Internet
Promotions for Merck-Medco (now Medco Health). She has also held strategic
marketing positions at Chase Manhattan Bank and National Westminster Bank.
Radford holds a Master of Arts Degree in Economics from Georgetown University and
earned a Bachelor of Science degree with honors in Industrial Engineering.
