John Stantial

SESSIONS
At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, John Stantial will discuss his company’s experience with XBRL; UTC partcipated in the SEC's voluntary program. Among other topics, Stantial will describe how the technology has freed up UTC’s time to do more value-added analysis for senior management; according to Stantial, XBRL could eliminate about 20 percent of the periodic report-preparation process at the $47.8 billion industrial conglomerate.

Then at 1:45 p.m., Stantial and UTC financial reporting manager Matt Birney will will provide a demonstration of the tools they use to process financial data using XBRL. (limited to 24 financial reporting executives).

John Stantial John Stantial is Assistant Controller Financial Reporting & Analysis for United Technologies Corporation, a $54+ billion conglomerate whose businesses include Carrier heating and air conditioning, Otis Elevators, Pratt & Whitney engines, Sikorsky helicopters, Hamilton Sundstrand aerospace systems and UTC Fire & Security Systems.

His department is responsible for all statutory filings, including XBRL furnishings, government reports, annual reports and all financial accounting and reporting policies of United Technologies Corporation.

John has over 20 years of combined public and private financial experience including previous positions as a Chief Financial Officer of an aerospace manufacturer, Vice President of a Heavy and Highway Contractor, Director of Finance for a cell tower manufacturer and Controller of an aerospace business within the Czech Republic.

John graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a BBA.
